What Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special after-hours event held at Magic Kingdom on select nights during the holiday season.
For 2026, the party takes place on select evenings from November 8 through December 22. The official event runs from 7:00 p.m. until midnight, but party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 p.m. without purchasing a regular theme park ticket for that day.
That means your family can enjoy up to eight hours inside Magic Kingdom using only your party ticket. I often recommend making your party day a slower one, sleep in, relax at your resort, enjoy the pool or have a special meal, and then head to Magic Kingdom feeling rested and ready for a late night of Christmas fun.
Once the park officially closes to regular daytime guests, the party begins and Magic Kingdom takes on an entirely different feeling.
Main Street, U.S.A. Becomes a Winter Wonderland
Let’s start with one of the most magical parts of the entire evening: the snoap!
Yes, technically it is Disney’s version of snow, but we call it snoap because it is actually made from a safe, soap-like mixture.
As you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., with Cinderella Castle glowing ahead of you, Christmas music playing and snoap floating through the air, it genuinely feels like you have stepped into a holiday movie.
It may not snow very often in Florida, but Disney still knows how to create a perfect white Christmas.
Children try to catch the snoap in their hands, families take photos in matching Christmas outfits and everyone seems to slow down for a moment to enjoy the atmosphere. Even if you have walked down Main Street dozens of times before, seeing it like this feels completely new.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is easily one of the best parades at Walt Disney World.
The parade features beloved Disney characters dressed in their festive holiday outfits, dancing gingerbread men, prancing reindeer, toy soldiers and beautifully decorated floats. You may spot characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Elsa and many more as they make their way through Magic Kingdom.
The famous marching toy soldiers are always a highlight. From their perfectly synchronized movements to the sound of their feet hitting the ground, they are one of those classic Disney Christmas experiences that everyone should see.
Of course, no Christmas parade would be complete without Santa Claus himself bringing up the finale!
The parade is colourful, nostalgic and filled with the type of Disney magic that parents and children can enjoy together. It is worth finding a good viewing spot, grabbing a cookie and settling in as a family.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show
During the party, Minnie Mouse hosts her very own holiday fireworks spectacular above Cinderella Castle.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show combines festive projections, colourful fireworks and classic Christmas music, including favourites such as “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
The show can be enjoyed from several areas around Magic Kingdom, but there is something particularly special about watching it from in front of Cinderella Castle. Seeing the castle illuminated while fireworks burst overhead is the kind of holiday memory your family will talk about long after the vacation is over.
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Cinderella Castle also becomes the setting for Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, a lively stage show starring Mickey Mouse and several of his friends.
The show is filled with Christmas music, dancing, colourful costumes and plenty of Disney characters. It is upbeat, festive and an easy addition to your evening because it is performed directly in front of the castle.
Families with younger children will especially enjoy seeing so many familiar characters together in one cheerful Christmas production.
You can also experience Frozen Holiday Surprise, featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the adorable Snowgies as Cinderella Castle is transformed into a frozen holiday wonderland.
Complimentary Cookies and Holiday Drinks
Now let’s talk about one of the most important parts of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party: the cookies!
Throughout Magic Kingdom, designated treat locations hand out complimentary cookies and festive beverages. These treats are included with your party admission, so your family can stop at multiple locations throughout the night.
Following the treat trail is part of the fun. You can pick up a cookie, continue exploring the park and then stop for another treat when you reach the next location. Depending on the year and location, festive beverage offerings may include options such as hot chocolate, apple cider or other seasonal drinks.
Disney also offers accommodations for guests with certain dietary needs. Be sure to speak with a Cast Member if someone in your family requires an allergy-friendly option.
There are also exclusive seasonal snacks, desserts and savoury dishes available to purchase during the party. These specialty menu items are not included with admission, but they can be a fun addition if your family loves trying limited-time Disney treats.

Many of Magic Kingdom’s attractions remain open during the party, and some receive special holiday transformations that are only offered during the Christmas season.
You may be able to experience:
- Space Mountain with holiday music and festive lighting
- Tomorrowland Speedway Race Through the Holidays, surrounded by thousands of lights and seasonal décor
- Mad Tea Party with special combinations of Christmas music and lighting
- Jingle Cruise, featuring holiday decorations and plenty of festive puns
- A seasonal Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor show filled with “ha ha ha” and “ho ho ho”
Classic attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin are also typically available.
Because party attendance is limited, attraction wait times can sometimes be lower than they are during a regular park day. I would not recommend spending the entire party riding attractions you can experience at another time, but it is a great opportunity to fit in a few family favourites between the exclusive shows and entertainment.
Characters in Their Holiday Best
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party also gives families the opportunity to meet Disney characters dressed in special holiday outfits.
Character appearances can vary, but part of the fun is discovering which Disney friends are celebrating around the park. These festive meet-and-greets make adorable Christmas card photos, especially if your family wears matching pyjamas, holiday shirts or Mickey ears.
You can also visit Santa’s Christmas Carnival in Storybook Circus, a festive area filled with Christmas cheer, Disney friends and, of course, Santa Claus.
Over in Tomorrowland, Club Tinsel offers a fun dance party where children can dance and play alongside Disney characters. It is a wonderful opportunity for kids to interact with characters in a more energetic and spontaneous way than a traditional meet-and-greet.
Exclusive Photos and Holiday Magic Shots
Magic Kingdom is beautifully decorated during the holidays, making Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party one of the best opportunities to capture family photos.
Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed around the park, including near character experiences and some of the most festive backdrops. Select locations also offer holiday-themed Magic Shots, which add special effects or Christmas surprises to your photos.
Photo downloads are not automatically included with a regular party ticket, but families can purchase Memory Maker One Day or Memory Maker for their entire Walt Disney World vacation.
Even if you do not purchase the photos, I recommend taking plenty of your own. Main Street under the Christmas lights, the snoap, Cinderella Castle and your children holding their cookies all make wonderful holiday memories.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party does require a separate ticket, but you are getting much more than a few additional hours inside Magic Kingdom.
