On September 21, 2026, EPCOT is turning Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind into the ultimate one-day-only dance party! 🚀🎶 For the entire day, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire will play on EVERY ride, meaning there’s no guessing which Cosmic Rewind song you’ll get. Guests can also meet Star-Lord, stop by Connections Café and Eatery for the September 21-only Supernova Sip (with a spirited bourbon version available), and shop Guardians merchandise at Treasures of Xandar. With the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and other fall festivities happening at the same time, I’m breaking down everything happening for this unofficial EPCOT holiday, and why I’d absolutely make September 21 my EPCOT day if it fell during my Disney World vacation! 🎶✨
If you’ve ever ridden Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, you know one of the BEST parts is waiting to find out which song you’re going to get.
There are a handful of different songs that can play during your ride, which means you can have a completely different experience every time.
But on September 21, 2026, there’s no guessing required.
Because for ONE DAY ONLY...

Disney absolutely knew what they were doing with this one, and if I were going to be at EPCOT on September 21, Cosmic Rewind would immediately become one of my biggest priorities of the day.
And Disney isn't stopping with the soundtrack. There are a few other special ways to celebrate this unofficial Guardians holiday around EPCOT too!
🎶 Why September 21 Is Special on Cosmic Rewind
Normally, every time you ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, your soundtrack is a surprise.
But on September 21, Disney is taking the guessing game out of it.
For the entire day, Earth, Wind & Fire's “September” will be the attraction's soundtrack.
Every. Single. Ride.
And honestly?
This is SO FUN.
“September” already feels like it was made for this attraction. It's upbeat, energetic and basically impossible not to dance to, which feels very appropriate when you're flying through space with the Guardians. 😂
If “September” is the song you've always wanted to get on Cosmic Rewind, September 21 is officially your day.
No crossing your fingers.
No hoping.
No getting off the ride and immediately wondering if you should ride again to try for a different song.
You're getting “September.” 🎶
🚀 What Is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?
If you haven't been to EPCOT yet, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the park's biggest attractions.
And it's VERY different from a traditional roller coaster.
The ride vehicles rotate as you move through the attraction, directing your attention toward different scenes while you're travelling along the track.
Add in the Guardians, an adventure through space and a soundtrack blasting around you...
And it's basically a roller coaster mixed with a dance party.
It's also one of those attractions where the music genuinely changes the experience.
Which is exactly why having a guaranteed song for September 21 is such a fun little Disney detail.
🎵 What Songs Can You Normally Get?
On a regular day, Cosmic Rewind randomly gives you one of its different onboard songs.
The regular soundtrack includes:
🎶 “September” — Earth, Wind & Fire
🎶 “Disco Inferno” — The Trammps
🎶 “Conga” — Gloria Estefan
🎶 “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” — Tears for Fears

And everyone seems to have an opinion about which one is BEST. 😂
That's part of what makes repeat rides so much fun.
You might ride once and get one song, then ride again later in your vacation and have the attraction feel completely different because of the soundtrack.
But September 21?

Your Guardians day doesn't have to end once you get off Cosmic Rewind.
Disney says guests can also stop by to meet Star-Lord himself!
If meeting Peter Quill is on your list, make sure you check My Disney Experience during your EPCOT day for the latest appearance times.
Character schedules can change, and I would NOT want to walk across EPCOT only to discover I just missed him.
Especially if you're purposely visiting on September 21 for all the Guardians fun, this would be such an easy addition to the day.

On September 21 only, Connections Café and Eatery will offer the Supernova Sip.
The non-alcoholic version features:
🔥 Spicy Hot Honey Syrup
🍋 Lemon Juice
✨ Edible Glitter
🍊 Orange Cotton Candy
There will also be a spirited version made with Maker's Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
Spicy hot honey, lemon, glitter AND cotton candy?
I genuinely have no idea what to expect from this combination, which means...
Obviously I need to try it. 😂
I also LOVE when Disney creates something that is genuinely limited to one specific day. It turns an otherwise normal EPCOT visit into something a little more memorable.
🛍️ Stop at Treasures of Xandar Before You Leave
And because no Disney attraction experience is truly complete without exiting dangerously close to merchandise...
You can stop at Treasures of Xandar after riding Cosmic Rewind.
Located near the attraction's exit, the Xandarian-themed shop carries Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise and souvenirs inspired by Xandar and its heroes.
So if riding Cosmic Rewind while listening to “September” isn't enough proof that you celebrated September 21 properly...
You can bring something home too. 😂
🗓️ Would I Plan an EPCOT Day Around September 21?
If my Walt Disney World vacation already included September 21?
YES.
I would absolutely try to make that my EPCOT day.
Would I completely rearrange an entire Disney vacation JUST for one song?
Okay...
Maybe that's where we need to assess how obsessed you are with Cosmic Rewind. 😂
But if you have flexibility with your park days, this is exactly the kind of little Disney experience that makes one particular day more fun than another.
If I'm choosing between EPCOT on September 20 and EPCOT on September 21...
Give me September 21.
💡 My September 21 EPCOT Game Plan
If I were planning my own day, I wouldn't make the entire itinerary about Guardians, but I'd definitely build Guardians into it.
I'd prioritize Cosmic Rewind early enough that I know I've experienced the special soundtrack, then continue with the rest of my EPCOT plans.
I'd also check the Star-Lord appearance times in My Disney Experience so I could figure out where a character meet fits naturally.
Then at some point...
Supernova Sip. 🍹✨
And because September 21 falls during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, there would already be plenty of food, drinks and entertainment happening around the park.
Basically:

If this suddenly has you thinking...
"Wait... should I go to Disney World in September?"
Disney is also currently promoting a couple of fall offers.
One option is the 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket, starting at $109 USD per day plus tax, or $436 USD plus tax total, for visits most days through October 3, 2026.
The ticket provides admission to each of Walt Disney World's four theme parks - one park per day and one admission per park, and must be used within seven days of first use.
Disney is also offering savings of up to 30% on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for stays of five nights or longer for most arrivals through October 3, 2026, with other savings available for shorter stays.
As always, Disney promotions have specific eligibility, dates and availability, so the exact offer that makes sense depends on your vacation.

The funniest part is that this isn't even the only special thing happening at EPCOT around this time.
September is already right in the middle of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and Disney is also celebrating Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15.
So if you're visiting on September 21, you can have a day filled with:

You're going to have this song stuck in your head for the rest of your vacation.
There is absolutely no avoiding it.
You'll ride Cosmic Rewind.
You'll hear it again walking around EPCOT.
You'll start singing it at dinner.
You'll wake up the next morning...
🎶 Ba-dee-ya...
And suddenly you're singing it in line for your first Magic Kingdom ride. 😂
Honestly?
Worth it.
✨ Should You Visit EPCOT on September 21?
If your Walt Disney World vacation includes September 21, 2026, I think this is such a fun reason to consider making that your EPCOT day, especially if Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is already one of your must-do attractions.
You're not getting a completely different attraction.
You're getting one of EPCOT's most popular rides with a guaranteed special soundtrack, plus a one-day-only drink and the opportunity to make your day a little more Guardians-themed.
Sometimes it's these tiny Disney details that end up making a vacation feel extra special.
And years later, instead of saying...
