Gordon Ramsay is bringing a taste of Swinging ’60s London to Downtown Disney with his brand-new restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby!✨ Inspired by London’s iconic Carnaby Street, the restaurant combines bold British pop-art style, British Invasion music, outdoor patios and a lively atmosphere with some of Ramsay’s most famous dishes - including Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, tableside prime rib and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Add in creative cocktails like the Passionfruit Royale and Peach & Basil Old Fashioned, and this looks like such a fun option for date nights, adults-only Disneyland trips, family dinners or an arrival-night meal in Downtown Disney. I’m breaking down the atmosphere, menu, drinks, what I’d order and who I think should add The Carnaby to their Disneyland vacation plans! 🍸🥩✨
Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort has been getting some seriously good new restaurants lately, and another HUGE name is joining the lineup.
Gordon Ramsay.
Yes. THAT Gordon Ramsay. 😂
Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is a brand-new British-inspired restaurant coming to Downtown Disney, and instead of feeling like a traditional British pub, Disney and Ramsay are going full Swinging 60's London.
Think bold colours, British pop art, music, cocktails, plush booths, outdoor patios and, obviously, some of Gordon Ramsay's most famous dishes.
Beef Wellington. Fish & chips. Sticky toffee pudding.
I’m already listening. 😂
And honestly, I LOVE that this gives us another restaurant at Disneyland Resort that feels like an actual destination, not just somewhere you stop because you need dinner.
Here’s everything we know about Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby!
What Is Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby?
The Carnaby is a new restaurant from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay coming to the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.
The entire concept is inspired by London's famous Carnaby Street during the 1960s, when British music, fashion, food and pop culture were exploding.
So rather than creating another super-traditional British restaurant, The Carnaby is leaning into that fun Swinging London era.
Expect:
✨ Bright British pop art
🎶 British Invasion music
🛋️ Plush, colourful interiors
🍸 A gorgeous bar
🌴 Outdoor dining spaces
🇬🇧 Classic British food
🥂 Creative cocktails
✨ And a much more glamorous take on a British pub
Basically...
London in the 60's meets Gordon Ramsay meets Disneyland.
I'm into it.
🎶 The Restaurant Looks Like SO Much Fun
The atmosphere might actually be one of the biggest reasons I'd want to eat here.
The Carnaby is designed to feel like you've stepped into London during the height of the cultural revolution of the 1960s.
There will be bold British pop art throughout the restaurant along with a soundtrack filled with British Invasion hits, which should make this feel much livelier than your typical sit-down restaurant.
And there are quite a few different places to sit.
Guests can grab a table on an expansive outdoor terrace overlooking Downtown Disney, relax on the back patio, sit inside one of the restaurant's signature booths or hang out at the bar.
That also makes this feel like it could work for SO many different types of Disneyland trips.
Family dinner?
Absolutely.
Dinner with friends?
Yep.
Disneyland adults trip?
100%.
Date night after the parks?
THIS would probably be my pick.
🥩 Let's Talk About the FOOD
Obviously, if Gordon Ramsay is opening a restaurant...
We're talking about the food.
And there are some VERY recognizable Gordon Ramsay dishes coming to Downtown Disney.
🥩 Beef Wellington
We have to start here.
The Beef Wellington is served with:
🥔 Potato purée
🌿 Fresh herb salad
🍷 Red wine demi
If you've ever watched Gordon Ramsay on TV, you probably already know how closely associated Beef Wellington is with his restaurants.
So if I were visiting The Carnaby for the first time and wanted the full Gordon Ramsay experience?
This is probably what I'd order.
🐟 Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips
Of COURSE there are fish and chips.
This version comes with:
🍟 Chips
🥒 Tartar sauce
🫛 Mushy peas
Classic. British. Exactly what should be on this menu.
And I also think this will probably be one of the easiest options for someone who wants to try the restaurant without getting super adventurous.
🌭 Bangers & Mash
Another British classic!
The Bangers & Mash comes with Cumberland sausage, mashed potatoes and onion jus.
This is exactly the kind of elevated comfort food I'd expect from this restaurant.
🥧 Cottage Pie
The Carnaby's Cottage Pie sounds GOOD.
Instead of a super-basic version, this one features:
🥩 Beef short rib
🥔 Potato crust
🥕 Baby vegetables
I feel like this would be SUCH a good colder-evening Disneyland meal.
Although, let's be honest.
It's Southern California.
I'll eat it when it's 25°C outside too. 😂
🍮 Sticky Toffee Pudding
You cannot go to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and skip dessert.
The Sticky Toffee Pudding features warm date cake with ice cream and toffee sauce.
Warm cake.
Cold ice cream.
Toffee sauce.
Say less.
This would absolutely be ordered for the table.
Whether everyone else actually gets to eat any of it is another question. 😂
🌎 It's Not JUST British Food
The menu isn't entirely traditional British cuisine.
The Carnaby will also serve several globally inspired dishes, including:
🐟 Branzino
🍗 Chicken Milanese
🌱 Chickpea tikka masala
🥗 Waldorf salad
🥗 Caesar salad
🍔 Wagyu burger
And then there are the Parker rolls - warm brioche served with whipped butter.
I already know I'd say:
"We don't need bread."
And then proceed to eat half of it myself.
👀 There's a TABLESIDE Prime Rib Cart
Okay, this immediately caught my attention.
The Carnaby will have a tableside prime rib cart.
The prime rib will be hand-carved and served with traditional British accompaniments including:
🥩 Prime rib
🥮 Yorkshire pudding
🥕 Roasted vegetables
🍖 Au jus
I LOVE tableside service.
It's one of those things that immediately makes dinner feel more like an experience instead of simply ordering a meal.
And for a nicer Disneyland dinner or date night?
This sounds SO good.
🍸 Now Let's Get to the Cocktails...
Because apparently The Carnaby decided the drinks needed to be just as dramatic as the restaurant.
And I'm not complaining. 😂
The restaurant will have a selection of wine and beer, but the signature cocktails are definitely what caught my attention.
🍑 Peach & Basil Old Fashioned
This one combines:
🥃 Elijah Craig Rye
🌿 Basil sugar
✨ Bitters
🍑 Peach cotton candy
Yes.
PEACH COTTON CANDY.
I'm not normally interested in an Old Fashioned, but add peach cotton candy and now you've got my attention.
🍒 Cherry Baby
The Cherry Baby combines:
🍸 Ketel One Citroen
🌸 St-Germain Elderflower
🐉 Dragon fruit powder dust
🍒 Cherry blossom “air”
This sounds like one of those drinks where half the fun is seeing it arrive at your table.
And honestly?
That's exactly what I want from a themed restaurant cocktail.
🥂 Passionfruit Royale
This might be the one I'd order first.
The Passionfruit Royale features:
🍸 Tito's Handmade Vodka
🥭 Passionfruit
✨ Vanilla
🥂 Prosecco
🫧 Passion fruit bubble
A PASSION FRUIT BUBBLE?!
Yeah.
I'm ordering that. 😂
🍸 This Could Be SUCH a Good Disneyland Adults Spot
One thing I really like about this addition is that it gives Downtown Disney another option that feels particularly good for an adults-only Disneyland trip.
Obviously, families can absolutely eat here.
But between the cocktails, British music, bold interiors, bar, outdoor terrace and elevated menu...
I can already picture this being perfect for:
💕 Date nights
👯 Girls' trips
🥂 Adults-only Disney trips
🎂 Birthday dinners
🍸 Drinks after leaving the parks
🍽️ A nicer dinner on an arrival or rest day
And because it's located in Downtown Disney, you don't necessarily need to spend valuable park time having a long sit-down meal.
That is a BIG plus for me.
🏰 Do You Need a Disneyland Park Ticket to Eat Here?
No!
The Carnaby is located in Downtown Disney, not inside Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure.
That makes it a great option for an arrival day, departure day or non-park evening.
Personally, I LOVE using Downtown Disney restaurants this way.
If I'm paying for a Disneyland park ticket, I want to be IN THE PARK.
I don't necessarily want to leave for a long dinner if I only have a few days.
But arriving in California, checking into the hotel and heading to Downtown Disney for dinner?
Perfect.
🍽️ Downtown Disney's Restaurant Lineup Is Getting GOOD
The Carnaby is also part of a much bigger transformation happening with Downtown Disney dining.
Gordon Ramsay joins a growing collection of notable chefs with restaurants in the district.
Chef Carlos Gaytán is behind Paseo, Céntrico and Tiendita, while Chef Joe Isidori is also set to have a presence with Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl's Roadside BBQ.
I really like the direction Downtown Disney is taking here.
Instead of every restaurant feeling like another version of generic theme-park dining, we're getting places with very distinct personalities and menus.
And The Carnaby definitely has a personality.
🤔 What Would I Order at The Carnaby?
Okay, based purely on what has been announced so far...
My first meal would probably look something like this:
To Start:
Parker rolls because apparently I have no self-control around warm bread.
Main:
Beef Wellington.
I feel like if I'm going to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant for the first time, I HAVE to.
Although that tableside prime rib is making this decision significantly harder.
Drink:
Passionfruit Royale.
There is a passion fruit bubble involved. I'm only human.
Dessert:
Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Non-negotiable.
And then I would leave Downtown Disney needing to be rolled back to my hotel.
A successful vacation dinner. 😂
⭐ Who Should Put The Carnaby on Their Disneyland List?
I don't necessarily think every Disneyland visitor needs to make time for a big sit-down Downtown Disney meal.
But there are definitely certain trips where The Carnaby makes a LOT of sense.
I'd put it high on my list if you:
🇬🇧 Love British food
🥩 Have always wanted to try Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington
🍸 Love creative cocktails
💕 Want a Disneyland date-night restaurant
👯 Are taking an adults-only Disney trip
🍽️ Want a nicer dinner outside the parks
🎶 Love restaurants with a fun atmosphere
✨ Want something that feels like an experience rather than just a meal
And if you're travelling with kids who are extremely picky or you're trying to do Disneyland on a tighter food budget?
I'd look at the menu and pricing before automatically making this one of your must-dos.
💕 My Thoughts on Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby
I think this is SUCH an interesting addition to Downtown Disney.
And what excites me most isn't simply that Gordon Ramsay has a restaurant at Disneyland Resort.
It's that the restaurant actually has a CONCEPT.
The Carnaby isn't trying to look like every other Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
It's taking inspiration from Carnaby Street, Swinging 60's London, British pop culture, music and fashion and building the entire dining experience around it.
Then you add Beef Wellington, fish and chips, tableside prime rib, Sticky Toffee Pudding and ridiculously fun cocktails?
Yeah. I want to go.
I also think Downtown Disney becoming more of a genuine dining destination is great for Disneyland vacations.
Your trip doesn't have to be:
Disneyland → Disney California Adventure → Disneyland → home.
You can have an arrival night in Downtown Disney.
A nice dinner.
A cocktail.
Some shopping.
Maybe a rest day.
And actually make the resort area part of your vacation instead of treating it purely as the walkway between your hotel and the parks.
Gordon Ramsay Is Bringing Swinging London to Disneyland!
Between the colourful 60's-inspired atmosphere, Gordon Ramsay classics, creative cocktails and outdoor spaces overlooking Downtown Disney, Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby sounds like it could become one of the most interesting dining options at Disneyland Resort.
And personally?
If you put Beef Wellington, Sticky Toffee Pudding and a passionfruit cocktail with an actual BUBBLE on the same menu...
You don't have to work very hard to convince me. 😂🥂
If you're planning a Disneyland Resort vacation, Magical Moments Travel can help with your resort, park tickets and overall vacation planning - including figuring out which restaurants are actually worth fitting into your trip.
Because Disneyland planning isn't just about deciding which ride to rope drop.
Sometimes the important decisions are:
Beef Wellington or tableside prime rib? 😂✨
