Starting Friday, September 25, 2026, Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting an all-new musical experience called Lilypad’s Jams!

"Who is Lilypad?"
She's a new character from Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, and she's officially making her way into Andy's backyard at Walt Disney World!
Lilypad is a frog-shaped smart tablet whose whole thing is using technology to connect friends. Now she's taking over the music at Alien Swirling Saucers as DJ Lilypad, bringing new songs, remixed Toy Story classics and even entertainment you can experience WITHOUT riding.
Honestly, I love when Disney gives an existing attraction a refresh without completely changing what people already enjoy about it.
And this sounds like it's going to make this little corner of Toy Story Land SO much more fun. 🐸🎧✨
🐸 First... Who Is Lilypad?
Lilypad is one of the newest toys joining the Toy Story universe in Toy Story 5.
She's a spirited frog-shaped smart tablet with a mission to connect friends, and now she's joining Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the toys in Toy Story Land.
But instead of simply adding Lilypad somewhere as decoration...
Disney is making her the DJ of Alien Swirling Saucers.
Which honestly makes perfect sense for a smart tablet. 😂
She's using her connection to the internet to remix and mash up songs across different musical styles and genres, creating an entirely new soundtrack for the attraction.
And Disney is calling it:

The new experience officially begins September 25, 2026.
🎧 Alien Swirling Saucers Is Getting NEW Music
If you've ridden Alien Swirling Saucers before, you already know that the music is a huge part of the attraction.
It's basically a giant space-themed spinning dance party with those adorable little green aliens.
Now Disney Imagineers are giving that soundtrack a pretty major refresh.
With Lilypad acting as DJ, the new playlist will combine reimagined songs from the Toy Story movies with completely original music created specifically for the attraction.
And they didn't just throw together a few remixes on a computer.
Imagineers actually travelled to Nashville to work with musicians on the new soundtrack!
The music jumps between several different genres, including:
🎤 Pop
🤠 Country
🎧 EDM
🎸 Alt-rock
So depending on which song is playing when you ride, you could get a VERY different vibe.
And I already know what's going to happen...
"We need to ride again because I want to hear a different song." 😂
Disney knows what they're doing.
🎶 Some Classic Toy Story Songs Are Getting Remixed!
This is probably the part I'm most curious about.
Disney is taking some of the most recognizable songs from the Toy Story movies and giving them a completely different Lilypad's Jams spin.
That includes:
🎵 “You've Got a Friend in Me”
🎵 “We Belong Together”
🎵 “I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away”
Instead of simply playing the versions we already know, these songs are being reimagined to fit the energy of Alien Swirling Saucers.
Disney Imagineering Senior Creative Producer Thomas Niederhiser explained that the team wanted to approach the music in a completely new way while still using songs people already associate with Toy Story.
And I think that's the right move.
“You've Got a Friend in Me” is basically THE Toy Story song.
You can't get rid of it.
But remixing it into something that feels more like a spinning alien dance party?
Okay, I'm listening. 😂
🍕 There's a NEW Pizza Planet Song?!
This might actually be my favourite detail.
Alongside the remixed classics, Disney created brand-new songs specifically for Lilypad's Jams.
One is called:
🍕 “Pizza Planet Promo”
YES.
Pizza Planet has its own promotional song. 😂
Disney describes it as an in-story theme song for everyone's favourite pizza arcade.
Considering how nostalgic Pizza Planet is for anyone who grew up watching Toy Story, I already feel like this song is going to get stuck in people's heads.
There's also another original song called:
🐸 “Spin It Back, Lilypad”
This one is a tribute to the newest toy in the backyard herself.
So we're not just getting a couple of existing songs thrown into a new playlist.
Disney and Pixar actually worked together to expand the story of Toy Story Land through original music.
And THAT is the kind of theme park detail I love.
🦖 Partysaurus Rex Is Getting More Playtime Too!
Disney also teased that Lilypad's new playlist gives other familiar Toy Story favourites an opportunity to make an appearance.
Including...
Partysaurus Rex! 🦖🎉

With Lilypad controlling the music, Disney says favourite toys like Partysaurus Rex are expected to get more airtime, or, as Disney put it, more playtime.
I feel like Rex and a DJ frog-shaped tablet are exactly the kind of chaotic combination Toy Story Land needs.
👀 You DON'T Have to Ride to Experience Lilypad's Jams!
This is the detail that makes this update way more interesting to me.
Lilypad's Jams isn't only happening while you're on Alien Swirling Saucers.
Lilypad will also be entertaining guests throughout the surrounding area.
So even if you don't want to ride, or you're waiting while someone else in your group does, you'll still get to experience part of the new entertainment.
DJ Lilypad will introduce and hype up songs from her playlist while also interacting with the honorary toys hanging around Andy's backyard.
And there's actually more happening between songs!
✏️ Games, Puzzles & Toy Story “Home Videos”
While you're in the area, Disney says you'll be able to participate in little activities with Lilypad.
You can:
🐸 Try to guess which toy she's drawing on her app
🧩 Help her unscramble puzzles
📹 Watch “home videos” she's recorded featuring familiar Toy Story friends
🎶 Listen as she introduces songs and keeps the party going
THIS is the part I think could make the area feel so much more alive.
Alien Swirling Saucers has always been a cute attraction, but this adds something for everyone standing nearby too.
And that's especially helpful for families.
Maybe one child wants to ride again while another doesn't.
Maybe you're waiting with a younger child.
Maybe someone is grabbing food while everyone else rides.
Now there's something happening around you instead of the experience beginning and ending with the attraction itself.
🧸 Toy Story Land Is Starting to Connect With Toy Story 5
I think there's something bigger happening here too.
The original Toy Story debuted all the way back in 1995.
Which means some of us who grew up with Woody and Buzz are now bringing our OWN kids to Toy Story Land.
Excuse me while I age approximately 400 years. 😂
But Toy Story 5 introduces another generation of characters into this world, and Lilypad's arrival at Hollywood Studios is a way of connecting the newest movie with the land we already know.
Disney isn't replacing Woody.
They're not getting rid of Buzz or Jessie.
Instead, they're adding another toy into the backyard and giving her a role that fits her character.
I actually really like that approach.
🎢 Is Alien Swirling Saucers Worth Riding?
I think this attraction sometimes gets overlooked because Hollywood Studios has SO MANY huge rides.
You've got attractions that tend to dominate everyone's priority lists, which means Alien Swirling Saucers can become one of those...
"We'll do it if we have time."
rides.
But especially for families with younger kids, I think it's a really fun addition to a Toy Story Land day.
It's colourful.
It's silly.
It's not a huge time commitment.
And now you're potentially getting a different musical experience depending on when you ride.
With Lilypad's Jams, I'd definitely want to ride at least once just to hear what they've done with the soundtrack.
And if I get the Pizza Planet song?
I'm considering that a successful Disney day. 😂🍕
🌙 I Think This Could Be REALLY Fun at Night
Toy Story Land is one of those areas that feels completely different after dark.
Everything lights up.
The oversized toys look even more colourful.
Slinky Dog Dash glows.
Alien Swirling Saucers already has that bright, energetic nighttime atmosphere.
Now imagine adding Lilypad's new EDM, pop, country and alt-rock-inspired soundtrack into the mix.
I would absolutely try to experience this after sunset.
If you're spending a full day at Hollywood Studios, I'd consider riding Alien Swirling Saucers once during the day and then coming back through Toy Story Land at night.
Especially if you want a chance to hear more than one of the new songs!
💡 How I'd Fit This Into a Hollywood Studios Day
Would I make Alien Swirling Saucers my number-one rope drop priority because of the new soundtrack?
No. 😂
There are still other attractions I'd prioritize first when the park opens.
But I WOULD intentionally make time for it instead of treating it as something I'll only ride if I happen to walk past with a short wait.
I'd probably save this for later in the day when I've already knocked out some of my biggest priorities.
Then I'd spend some time actually enjoying Toy Story Land instead of racing from attraction to attraction.
Ride Alien Swirling Saucers.
Listen to Lilypad.
See which song you get.
Check out the entertainment happening around the attraction.
Grab something to eat.
And then come back once Toy Story Land starts lighting up for the evening. ✨
Sometimes slowing down and actually enjoying the themed areas is WAY more memorable than trying to cram 14 attractions into one day.

Here's the important part:

So if your Walt Disney World vacation is happening September 25 or later, this is something new you'll be able to experience!
And because this isn't being introduced as a separately ticketed event, you don't need to buy some special Lilypad ticket or add-on.
It's simply becoming part of the Toy Story Land experience.
✨ A Small Update That Could Make a BIG Difference
This isn't a brand-new attraction.
It isn't a new land.
And it's definitely not something I'd plan an entire Walt Disney World vacation around. 😂
But I LOVE these smaller updates.
They're what make repeat Disney trips fun.
You can visit Hollywood Studios one year, come back the next and suddenly there's a new character, new music or some little detail that wasn't there before.
Lilypad's Jams sounds like exactly that kind of update.
You're getting familiar Toy Story songs in completely new styles, original songs made specifically for the attraction, a new Toy Story 5 character and entertainment that extends beyond the actual ride.
And honestly...
I'm mainly here to hear this Pizza Planet song. 🍕😂
